Pop Century is one of Disney’s value resorts. It is by far one of the better value resorts Disney has to offer. It has five buildings: 1950’s, 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s & 1990’s. Each building is themed to its decade with lots of matching decor. The grounds include 3 pool areas; one large one in the center, and a pool on each far end.
The center pool is the busiest as it is more interactive & kid-oriented compared to the others.
The rooms are pretty small, but they do have a mini fridge in them! That’s always a bonus for me, especially if you’re on the dining plan (we usually end up bringing desert back to our room to have for breakfast the next day). The beds are basic but decently comfortable.
Transportation at this resort is nice as far as values go because it has its own buses that run to the parks versus the All-Star Resorts that share buses. I haven’t typically waited longer 15-20 minutes for a bus at this resort.
The food court here has a pretty decent selection, with its famous tye-dye cheesecake being a center feature. This area is typically open 6am-12am. It includes:
Breakfast: Omelette Station, Waffles, Pancakes, Eggs, Bacon and Sausage and a Bakery case.
Lunch/Dinner: Pizza, Burgers, Sandwiches, Chicken Dinners, Salads and an Ice Cream counter.
Right next to the food court you can find a store with forgotten toiletries, and plenty of souvenirs.
(Above is Pop Century as seen from across the lake.)
Pop Century also has a lake that separates it from Art of Animation (a neighboring value resort). There is a bridge and nice walking path that will take you across if you would like to check out AoA. We went to their shopping area and ate at their food court last time we stayed at Pop just for some variety.
All in all, I would stay here again if picking from the pool of value resorts.
